To be single or to be album, that is the question.

In this article, we contemplate the question of whether you should release your music as a single or an album.

If you have one or up to three songs, that you would like to release on its/their own, go for a single.  If you have a larger number of tracks you should release an album. An album is a unity, all the tracks on it evolve around a common theme or topic. Do not add that don't fit this topic, but rather release them as singles or work a whole album around them.

However, what if you would like to surprise your fans with a full release without spending time on promoting individual songs?  

Or, alternatively, what if you would like to build some hype around your project and release a large batch of songs that you promote each separately? 

There are a lot of scenarios that could prompt you to go one way or another. The most important thing is to brainstorm your strategy before releasing anything. This way you will be better prepared for what’s to come.
